Oudh - aromatic and amber scent.
Oudh has always been known in various cultures and religions, but also in ancient medical practices, and is a very valuable essential oil. Myths say that the scent can give a magical aura. Locherber Milano has transformed its mystical charm into an Eau de Parfum with a seductive personality that evokes the fragrant oriental atmosphere.
The oud comes from the water distillation of agarwood, a dark and very aromatic resin that thickens in the trunks and roots of trees of the Aquilaria and Gyrinops species (evergreen plants of Southeast Asia) when they are attacked and mutilated by molds, insects and parasites through natural events such as wind, lightning and contact with animals. It is therefore the tree itself that protects itself with this particular - and precious - resinous substance that impregnates the wood and gives it strength.
However, not all Aquilaria trees produce agarwood: it is becoming increasingly rare and, above all, is not visible outside the trunk, but only after the tree has been felled.
If previously the tree resources were used sustainably by the local population, today commercial pressures have led to the depletion of the species, making agarwood one of the rarest, most valuable and sought-after botanical materials.
Even today, especially in the Middle East, it is burned in the form of shavings in special incense burners to perfume the home and clothing.
Locherber Milano selects only the best essences from the countries of origin to create natural and exclusive fragrances.
